As half of our family lives in Denmark, we visit this country several times a year. Denmark is the oldest Kingdom of Europe and has less than 5.500.000 inhabitants, making it a country where one can relax. The countryside is loverly with many small old cities  worth a visit.

Copenhagen, the capital, is situated on the island of Sjaelland. It is connect to Fyn by a bridge and also between Copenhagen and Malmø there is a bridge. Coming from Germany Sjaelland can be reached by ferries from Germany. The shortest way is the connection between Puttgarden and Rødby by Scandlines , which takes 45 minutes but can be crowded during the tourist season.

Copenhagen, the capital, is worth a visit. Not only the change of the guard at the Royal Palace of Amalienborg or the Little Mermaid at Langelinie make this city famous. Of course there is the famous Tivoli garden , but there are also famous museums like the Carlsberg Glyptotek or the Statens Museum for Kunst.

It is also an excellent city for shopping and strolling. Strøget is the most famous shopping street but there are many others worth a visit.
