Situated on the banks of the mighty Chao Phraya river, a stop in Bangkok is a must. At  your first visit go and see all the places where all tourists go, like the Grand Palace, What Po, What Arun etc.

Traffic in Bangkok is a disaster but a quick way to go from one point to another is by Skytrain or Underground. If you are along the river, you can take one of the river boats. Shopping is a great thing to do. During week-ends go to see the Chatuchack week-end market at the end of the Skytrain line to the north. It is one of the biggest markets in the world.

If you have some days to spent, go and see a taylor and let yourself have a suit made at unbeatable prices.  My favourite taylor is Mr. Suchart  (Ordermark collection) who has his shop in the basement of the Narayana Phand Pavillion at Rajdamri Road opposite  Central World Plaza  (first shop to your right in the basement).
